KPUD Commissioners increased the funding limit for
Senior Discounts by $10,000 at the April 25th commission meeting.
KPUD has 371 low income senior customers that receive electric discounts between 5%-35% on their bills. The funding cap was met at the end of April, so raising the cap to $75,000 enabled the program to run through May 2023, as planned.
This program runs the risk of ending early if caps are met, but we are fortunate this was not the outcome this year.
